Constructed in the 1970’s, the lodge was owned and managed by George and Isle Frintz who ran the business as a lowkey German styled get away for over 30 years.  The original name of Black Mountain Lodge comes from the name of the highest peak (2641 ft) in the Adirondack Mountains. During the slower periods of the afternoon, George and Isle could often be seen walking their German Shepard on any one of innumerable hiking paths in the area.

After purchasing the lodge in the Fall of 2019, Peaceful Black Mtn LLC started the lengthy process of remodeling and upgrading the aging systems. Today, the newly branded North Creek Lodge at Gore Mountain has a fresh new look while maintaining the ambiance of Adirondack Styled lodging. With a family friendly atmosphere and special attention to cleanliness and guest satisfaction, North Creek Lodge, is the perfect jumping off point for an Adirondack adventure.

With all the exciting changes, we have decided to rebrand as North Creek Lodge at Gore Mountain.   It is a great new name and reflects our location in North Creek, NY and at the headwaters of North Creek.   Gore Mountain is, of course, one of the most prominent peaks and only 3 miles from the lodge.
